Did you know that NHK has a website where you can listen to their daily Japanese broadcast, and select the speed of the playback? It's here. You can select slow, normal, or if you are a masochist, fast playback. It's a good way to train your ears to pick up all that crazy newscast vocabulary. Oh, I think you know exactly what I mean.
